Call to Worship (based on Acts 2:1-4)
All together in one place;
they heard the rush of a violent wind;
it filled the entire house.
Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared and rested on each of them;
they were filled with the Holy Spirit.
Opening Hymn #128 On Pentecost They Gathered
(Please remain standing through the Response to God’s Grace)
Call to Confession
God’s Spirit has gathered us for worship. Let us confess our sins and get right with God.
Prayer of Confession
Spirit of God, we build walls and barriers. We assume and stereotype. We devalue the diversity you created, and choose what is comfortable and familiar. Forgive our lack of courage. Embolden us to cross borders and boundaries of difference. Fill us with your Holy Spirit that gathers us together and calls us to build beloved community.
Assurance of Pardon and Exchange of Peace (Acts 2:21)
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and freed. Amen.
In light of God’s gift of grace, please turn to your neighbor to extend the peace of Christ, saying, “May the Peace of Christ be with you,” and offer the traditional response:
“And also with you.”
Response to God's Grace #122 Thine is the Glory (refrain)
Thine is the glory,
Risen, conquering Son;
Endless is the victory,
Thou o'er death hast won.
Sermon for Faith Builders Children are invited to go to Children’s Worship with our Children’s Worship Leader, Ms. Marisa. Children will return during the final hymn.

Come, Holy Ghost, our souls inspire,
and lighten with celestial fire.
Thou the anointing Spirit art,
who does thy seven-fold gifts impart.
Come, O Spirit of Fire
To all people inspire
Holy wind, holy fire
Rushing down in glory.
Tell the ancient story.
Rushing wind, wind, wind
Tongues of flame, flame, flame
Rushing wind, tongues of flame
Who will tell the story?
Come, O Spirit of Flame
To your people proclaim

For us to inherit
Father, Son and Spirit

Sermon Peace Be With You
Are These “Those Days?” Acts 2:1-21
Affirmation of Faith - (Nicene Creed)
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
