Opening Hymn #138 Holy, Holy, Holy
(Please remain standing through the Response to God’s Grace)
Call to Confession
Jesus calls us to enter the joy of discipleship, the joy of following in his way. But sin clings closely, and we struggle to respond fully to Christ’s invitation. Let us seek God’s forgiveness so that we may know more deeply the joy God intends.
Prayer of Confession
Blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, yours is a perfect relationship, one God in three persons, mutual and whole. We confess that our relationships, with you and others, are not that way. We have been too selfish; what we give and what we receive tend to be out of balance. And we are often dissatisfied with the blessings we have been given, and opportunities to share your love and grace go unrecognized, ignored.
We have failed to love in the manner of Jesus. We have let sin drive us away from one another and from you. We long for wholeness and peace, but our sin pulls us in other directions. Forgive us and restore us. Pull us back. With mercy and grace, pull us into your embrace once again. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon and Exchange of Peace
With abundant grace and boundless mercy, God relentlessly seeks us out. This is good news! In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!
In light of God’s gift of grace, please turn to your neighbor to extend the peace of Christ, saying, “May the Peace of Christ be with you,” and offer the traditional response:
“And also with you.”
Response to God's Grace #122 Thine is the Glory (refrain)
Thine is the glory,
Risen, conquering Son;
Endless is the victory,
Thou o'er death hast won.
Sermon for Faith Builders Children are invited to go to Children’s Worship with our Children’s Worship Leader, Ms. Marisa. Children will return during the final hymn.

Hymn #137 We All Believe in One True God
Scripture Reading Proverbs 8:1-4, 22-31
Anthem I Believe in God Almighty Sylvia G Dunstan/Trad. Welsh
I believe in God almighty, Father of all things that be,
Maker of the earth and heavens, Keeper of the sky and sea.
I believe in God's Son, Jesus, now for us both Lord and Christ,
of the Spirit and of Mary born to bring abundant life.
I believe that Jesus suffered, scourged and scorned and crucified;
taken from the cross, was buried--True Life there had truly died.
I believe that on the third day Christ was raised up from the grave,
then ascended to God's right hand. He will come to judge and save.
I believe in God's own Spirit, bonding all the saints within
one Church, catholic and holy, where forgiveness frees from sin;
in the body's resurrection, for the breaking of death's chain
give the life that's everlasting. This the faith that I have claimed.
Sermon The Spirit Knows What’s Next John 16:12-15
Affirmation of Faith - (Nicene Creed)
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
