Welcome and Announcements

Opening Prayer & Gathering #391 Take My Life, vs. 1

Take my life, and let it be

Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.

Take my moments and my days;

Let them flow in ceaseless praise,

Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Call to Worship

O Lord, you search us and know us;

We praise you, O God, our Maker.

You are the potter, we are the clay;

We are the works of your hands.

Opening Hymn #276 Great Is Thy Faithfulness

(Please remain standing through the Gloria Patri)

Call to Confession

Trusting in the power of God, not only to fashion the world, but to mend and refashion our hearts, let us turn to the Lord to say how it is with us.

Prayer of Confession

Holy God, like indulged children, we are quick to presume your pardon, your approval of our manner of living. We turn from neighbors in need, rationing out generosity only after we ourselves have been satisfied. Merciful maker, you created us for better use; remake us now. Where we are distorted, re-center and reshape us, bring us low and raise us up. Then fire our hearts until we shine with your glory and find our place in your purpose.

Use this moment of silence to share your silent prayers of confession.

Assurance of Pardon

If anyone is in Christ, there is new creation; everything old has passed away; see everything has become new. Sisters and brothers, in the name of Christ I declare that your story is known to your Maker, your sin is forgiven, your life is made new. Let us live as those who are made new.

In light of God’s gift of grace, please turn to your neighbor to extend the peace of Christ, saying, “May the Peace of Christ be with you,” and offer the traditional response:

“And also with you.”

Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,

and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now,

and ever shall be, world without end.

Sermon for Faith Builders Children are invited to go to Children’s Worship with our Children’s Worship Leader, Ms. Marisa. Children will return during the final hymn.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Blessed are you, O Lord our God: You created us in your own image and filled us with your Spirit of life. Still you shape us to fulfill your purpose. Therefore we praise you, joining the song of the universal church and the heavenly choir, who sing:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might; Heaven and Earth are full of your glory.

Hosannah in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Blessed is Jesus Christ, our Savior: Jesus calls us to take up the cross, knowing the cost of discipleship yet trusting in God's saving love.

Remembering your goodness and grace, we offer ourselves to you with gratitude as we share this joyful feast. Great is the mystery of the faith:

Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ shall come again.

Pour out your Holy Spirit upon us and upon this bread and cup; make us one in the body and blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. Teach us to live as sisters and brothers, honoring one another as equals and serving one another with love. Through the Lord Jesus Christ, in the unity of the Spirit, we bless you, God of glory, now and forever.
