Opening Prayer & Gathering #697 Take My Life, vs. 1

Take my life, and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.

Take my moments and my days; Let them flow in ceaseless praise,

Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Call to Worship

This is the day that the Lord has made;

let us rejoice and be glad in it.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you.

And also with you.

Let us worship God!

Opening Hymn #756 O God of Every Nation

(Please remain standing through the Gloria Patri)

Call to Confession

The psalmist wrote, “Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,’ and you forgave the guilt of my sin.” Let us not hide our sins from God, but confess before God and one another, assured of God’s gracious forgiveness in Jesus Christ.

Prayer of Confession

Gracious and loving God, we confess that we are troubled by the events of our lives and the state of this world. Headlines are full of wars, insurrections, suffering, earthquakes, massive storms, famines, and death. These things are enough to shake our faith and undermine our confidence in your promise to redeem the world. Lord, we believe; help our unbelief. Deliver us from anything that distracts us from faithful living and loving service. Forgive us when we doubt your promises. Help us to endure that we may gain our souls, always bearing witness to your love and grace in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness and Exchange of Peace

“As far as the east is from the west, so far does God remove our transgressions from us.” Hear and believe the good news: In Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven. Thanks be to God!

May the peace of Christ be with you; And also with you.

Please exchange the peace of Christ with your neighbors.

Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

Sermon for Faith Builders

Children are invited to go to Children’s Worship with our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Ms. Marisa. They will return during the final hymn.

Affirmation of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed (Traditional)

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
