We received 121 Lbs. of food donations in January which gives us a good start to 2019. ShopRite’s January Can-Can promotion always helps.
Because of January’s government worker furloughs and the resulting loss of income, all of the food pantries were being stretched, so our donations certainly helped to alleviate some of the angst.
Even with Trinity’s reduced congregation size, we are still able to maintain a very good level of food donations, which says a lot about our commitment to the welfare of the community around us. We are getting to be “The Little Engine that Could”.
Isaiah 58:10 says – “If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.” So let’s keep the gloom away.
FELLOWSHIP & WORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Dellridge Nursing Home
We have noticed a number of church groups that provide services and entertainment at Dellridge around the Holidays. But, as with our food donations, Trinity provides on-going support 12 months (actually 11) of the year. This then allows for a more personal interaction for the residents and ourselves. We get to know each other a little better and touch each other’s lives.
