November 2021
Pastor's Pen
I will continue the sermon series in the
book of Revelation through the month of
November. We will soon be looking at
prophecy concerning Mystery Babylon and
its fall, and the coming of Christ in glory to
establish His Millennial Kingdom upon the
earth. This sermon series will take us
through the month of December. Invite
your friends and neighbors to come join us
for this study.
I want to encourage all of our members to
make a special effort to become more faithful
in church attendance. Some have gotten into
the habit of missing our services. It is easy to
find excuses not to come, but the church
suffers when we are not at full strength. In
these last days, we need to be more steadfast
and faithful in serving the Lord.
The Bible says, “Let us hold fast the profession
of our faith without wavering…not forsaking
the assembling of ourselves together, as the
manner of some is; but exhorting one another”
(Heb. 10:23,25).
This is me exhorting you to hold fast and
be faithful. Hope to see you this Sunday in
your place.
From The Youth Pastor
I canʼt believe that it is November
already. Fall is my favorite time of the
year. The leaves change, the
temperature gets cooler, the night sky
is crystal clear, and we begin to think
about the things we are thankful for.
We usually have a pretty standard
list of things we will mention as we sit
around the table, eating turkey and
dressing. We are thankful for family,
friends, food, football and black
friday sales. We are thankful to be
together and thankful for our health.
We tend to focus on the things we are
thankful for but not the one we are
thankful to. We need to be thankful for
the giver, not just the gifts he gives us.
I challenge you this month to sit
down every day and thank God for
his grace in providing you a savior.
Make a list, remembering a different
aspect of the gospel each day.
Thank God for loving you even though
you are completely unloveable.
Thank God for reaching down into the
pit and pulling you out, even though
you were his enemy. Thank God for
saving a wretch like you who did not
deserve it.
When we see ourselves in the light
of the gospel, we understand just how
small we really are and how huge God
is. If we can understand just how undeserving
we are, we will be able to live
a life that is filled with Thanksgiving.
