We are in a sermon series through the Sermon
on the Mount (Matthew #5-7). This will be a
Sunday morning series.
I am preaching a series through 1 Timothy
in the Sunday evening services.
I am also teaching a series on the Life and
Times of King David in my Wednesday night Bible
class. I encourage everyone to join us for these
messages and allow me to feed you the precious
Word of God, that you may grow thereby.
We are living in a time when many are
basically ignorant of Godʼs Word, but they are
willingly ignorant, because they have ample
opportunities to come and hear the teaching and
preaching of the holy Scriptures.
But I remind you that we will all stand before
the Lord and we will be judged by the Word of
God, whether we bothered to learn it or not.
I also want to encourage more of our people
to get back into Sunday School classes. Our
Sunday School has not really picked up any since
the pandemic started. Support our SS teachers by
your presence in a SS class this Sunday and each

February is the month society tends to
focus on love. Heart shaped everything
from boxes to pizza and donuts. Flowers
and balloons, candy and cards, everything
is red and pink. Valentineʼs Day is
the day we are meant to tell that “special
someone” we love them...The word
“Love” has become so diluted and
overused. Do we even really understand
what it is?
As a christian, only you can know
what true love is. In Ephesians husbands
are admonished to love their wives “as
Christ loved the church and gave Himself
for her”. Christ sacrificed himself for the
church and gave everything he had.
This is the standard of love we are given
as husbands. Not candy and a card
once a year or a stuffed bear and some
We know what true love is because
God demonstrated it for us “in while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us”
Romans 5:8. God loved us when we
were his enemies.
Jesus told us to “love our enemies, do
good to those who hate us and pray for
those who would persecute us”. This is
how we can show Godʼs love, true love,
to the world.
If weʼre only loving to the people who
are nice to us, we are just like everyone
else. Letʼs make a commitment to demonstrate
Christʼs love to everyone and show
the world what true love looks like.
