Pastor's Pen
Last Sunday, I began a new sermon series in
Leviticus #23, about the 7 Feasts of Jehovah
given to Israel to observe each year. There are 4
spring festivals, which the Lord Jesus fulfilled in
His first coming. His death, burial, resurrection
and sending of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost were
all foreshadowed by these feasts.
The 3 fall festivals will be fulfilled in the 2nd
Coming of Christ. Join us for this series and learn
of Godʼs blueprint for manʼs redemption through
Christ Jesus.
Through the month of August we have received
Faith Promise Mission pledge cards for the
coming church year, which begins in September.
So far, we have received 69 cards, totaling
$12,050 per month. That is $1,041 per month
more than last yearʼs pledges. That should allow
us to support 75 mission fields for the coming
year. AMEN!
Speaking of missionaries, we were blessed last
Sunday night by Glory Janes report of her recent
trip to India to visit the Childrenʼs Home there
that we support. This Sunday morning, Chase
Reynolds was with us to bring the message
and share his report. Then on the evening of
Sept. 25th, Collier Robertson, director of the
MBSF at OSU will be with us.
From The Youth Pastor
School is finally back in session and
we are starting to get into a routine
again. We had a great time at the
youth back-2-school party. It was good
to get together and have some fun with
the kids and show them that fun can be
had without phones and Xboxes. It
was nice to see them come together
and communicate with something
other than their thumbs and emojis.
We have begun a new season of
Road Trip to Truth. We are learning
that monotheistic religions are really
the only ones that make any logical
sense, and Christianity is the only one
that can answer all of lifeʼs 5 biggest
questions: 1. How did I get here? 2. Why
am I here? 3. How should I Live. 4. How
should I deal with moral failure? 5. Where
am I going when I die?
Everything was created by God, not a
cosmic accident. We are here to know
God and glorify Him. We should live
according to the ownerʼs manual that
God gave us...The Bible. We deal with
our moral failures by repenting and
putting our faith in Christ and His work
on the cross. When we die, our body
decays, but our soul lives on forever.
These are the foundational truths of
Christianity, that implicitly answer all 5
of lifeʼs biggest questions. But the most
important question is this. Is it true?
Either it is, or it isnʼt. This is not a question
you can skip over or leave blank,it
must be answered. - Bro. Tim
