November 2022
Pastor's Pen
We are entering the holiday season and I hope
that we will not let it interfere with our faithfulness
in attending services. We can show our thankfulness
for Godʼs blessings, and celebrate the birth of our
Saviour by being in our place for each service these
next two months. It is sad that most churches see a
big decrease in attendance during this time.
In the month of November, I plan to preach a
3-sermon series on home and marriage. I read that
there are more divorces filed during this season
than at any other time of the year. So, I thought it
might be time to do a little marriage and home
counseling from the pulpit.

We will have our annual Thanksgiving dinner
on November 20th, after the morning services.
The Young Adult class will be hosting this event.

In the month of December, we will be looking
at the reason for the season – the birth of Christ.
I will preach a couple of messages on that theme,
and the choir will present its Christmas musical on
December 18th.

On a personal note, I had a biopsy last week
which shows that I am in remission with my cancer.
I want to thank all of you that have been praying for
me. To God be the glory!
From The Youth Pastor
October seemed to fly by for me.
There was a lot going on with fall break,
the fall festival, the Bonfire, and the
youth led service. I am happy that
everything went well. At least everyone
participated, no one caught themselves
or the field on fire and Bro. Gabe did a
fine job on his sermon.
Now November is here and we are
getting ready for Thanksgiving.
This is one of the most widely celebrated
holidays in America. At least 90% of
Americans celebrate Thanksgiving every
year, according to a 2021 survey. Most
of us think about the turkey and dressing
(or stuffing), the pie, the green bean
casserole, the potatoes...But what about
the holiday itself? Are we truly thankful
for anything?
One of my favorite song lyrics is “If
youʼve got a lot, or a lot of nothing, go
ahead and thank God for something”.
We tend to forget that everything we
have comes from God. Job understood
this, he explained it to his wife in Job
2:10 when he said “... shall we receive
good from God and not receive evil?”.
God gives us both blessings and adversity.
If we are truly his children, He wants
us to be conformed to the image of his
son. Christ suffered an agonizing death
so we could be forgiven and reconciled
to God. So even if you have nothing
else to be thankful for, you can be thankful
that God loved you so immensely
that He spared not his own son, but
delivered him as a sacrifice for your sin.
And nothing can separate you from
that love. - Bro. Tim
