Congregational Meeting

1. Prayer of Constitution by the Moderator
2. Appointment of Clerk - Recommended: Mr. Greg Kothman
3. Appointment of tellers (2 minimum)
4. Confirmation of Quorum
5. Moderator’s Confirmation that the Congregation wishes to proceed with an election
6. Devotion
7. Elder Election
8. Final Reading of the Edict: “That the Great Basin TGB call a congregational meeting on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 6:15 PM for the purpose of electing a ruling elder.  The TGB will be nominating Mr. Greg Kothman.  For communicant members unable to attend in person, such members are asked to mail their ballots to the Moderator of the Great Basin TGB (Rev. Colin Samul, 6909 Brahms Drive, Sun Valley, NV 89433) postmarked no later than Monday, July 12, 2021 (to ensure receipt prior to the meeting date). Each absentee member’s ballot should be sealed in an envelope with the member’s name on the outside, and a slip of paper on the inside with either (1) “Greg Kothman”, (2) another name, (3) “No,” or (4) “Abstain”. The Moderator of the TGB will collect ballots by roll call at the meeting, and those ballots which are provided via mail will be entered into the ballot when each member’s name is called.”

11. “Only those receiving at least two-thirds of the votes cast shall be declared elders-elect. Blank ballots shall not be counted in determining the total number of votes cast. A ballot marked “No,” indicating that the person desires not to vote for any candidate, should be counted in determining the total number of votes cast. l. If a two-thirds vote has not been reached after three ballots, the moderator, in consultation with the session, may postpone the election. Two tellers shall be appointed by the moderator to collect the ballots and tabulate the results of the election and report to the moderator.” (DOG I.D.4.k.l.m)
