You? You're Awesome.
Sunday, October 22nd
Where do you find inspiration? Where does your strength and encouragement come from? In this life we need to be raised up from time to time to be able to cope with the stress and the general nonsense that comes with living in a broken and fallen society.
The Psalmist declared:
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. (Ps 121:1-2)
When we see the mountains in our lives, we often ask ourselves where will our help come from? Where is our hope? Every kind of help required is found in our Lord. He has provided all the help that could possibly be needed.
As we have been looking at the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit, we have discovered that our Lord has given us such a great helper that He even lives with us and in us daily. The very presence of God is available this moment and the next. The Maker of heaven and earth is as close as an intimate conversation if we will just listen and allow Him to lead us.
October is Pastor Appreciation Month!
Here are some ways you can be an encouragement, support and blessing to Pastor Rich and Brenda
Spiritual Gifts Inventory
The Holy Spirit gifts each believer with at least one spiritual gift to be used for the good of the Body of Christ. We are most effective and fulfilled when we work within our giftedness.
You are encouraged to take a simple gifts inventory to identify your gifts and put them to work.
Click the image above to take the test online or paper copies are available in the foyer at church.

Crisis Care Kits are a way we can help others in emergency situations. Receiving simple items like toothpaste, a comb, or band-aids become very helpful in a natural disaster, war or other crisis. Crisis Care Kits (CCKs) are designed to provide people with some of the essentials they may not have due to those scenarios.
Most of the current stock of CCKs stored in the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries warehouses is already committed, and they need our help to provide more. Check out the Facebook page of Fawn Grove Compassion Center to see the warehouse the kits go to.
Our NMI Council has set a goal for Grand Ledge to collect 12 boxes (72 CCK's) by July 2023. Each month or so, we will feature an item to collect. (Although you can always give any of the items at any time!)
See below for this month's featured item and the details on the specifics. Thank you for helping us work toward reaching our goal!
October Featured Item:
October = Toothpaste (4.0 - 6.4oz)
We will be collecting these at the Missions corner in the foyer. Here is an idea of how many we will need by July 2023:
1 per CCK
6 per box
72 for all 12 boxes
Other ways to help:
- Pick up banana boxes (can get free from most grocery stores) we will need at least 12 before July 2023
- Pray for those who will be receiving these kits
2023 Camp Dates:
Join us for our regular worship service with our GLNAZ Kids. Kids will stay in service this day to worship with their families. We will have a Dedication service for parents who wish to dedicate their child(ren) to the church.
If you are interested in dedicating your child(ren), please let Pastor Rich know before October 23rd. firstname.lastname@example.org
Join us Sunday, November 6th for a special service to learn more about Faith Promise. Rachel McCarty will join us with a special message about our part in the World Evangelism Fund. The NMI Council has some fun things to announce this day too! See you there!
