How many articles of clothing do you own that include a logo of a company or sports team of some kind? We tend to express our preferences through things we wear, drink from, stick on our cars or hang on our walls. We are walking and driving advertisements. 

This Sunday we will look at one of the passages of scripture that reminds us God has called us to be holy. “Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)  What would that shirt look like? How do we advertise that we’re on a team like this? The things is, we don’t need to be an athlete to wear an MSU licensed hoodie, or a U of M ball cap. But God is expecting us to be invested to be on his team. We really are supposed to be striving to be holy in all we do and all that we are.  We don’t do any of this in our own strength or natural ability, but because he who calls us is able to transform us into people who can reflect the character of our holy God. 

No one would mistake me for being a collegiate athlete just because I might be wearing the team’s logo on a windbreaker.  But my hope is that I would never be misrepresenting the Lord, and that I will always be striving to have a place among the people that are called by His name. Holiness requires continuing to say ‘yes’ to the Lord and allowing Him to use us on His team. Lord, help us to become walking advertisements for you.

Kitchen Help:

We have an abundance of plastic silverware that we are looking for a few people who could help us wrap 'restaurant style' to keep in the pantry in preparation for future funeral dinners, potlucks, etc. If this is something you'd be able to help with, please let the Stewards know! Transportation Help:

We are in need of help with getting Kevin Maxwell to and from church on Sunday mornings.

• Pick up at his house at 10:20am to get him to church for morning service
• Take him home after service

Crisis Care Kits are a way we can help others in emergency situations. Receiving simple items like toothpaste, a comb, or band-aids become very helpful in a natural disaster, war or other crisis. Crisis Care Kits (CCKs) are designed to provide people with some of the essentials they may not have due to those scenarios.

Our NMI Council has set a goal for Grand Ledge to collect 12 boxes (72 CCK's) by July 2023. Each month or so, we will feature an item to collect. (Although you can always give any of the items at any time!)

May - Toothbrushes - each CCK needs to contain 3 toothbrushes - this can be either 3 individually packaged toothbrushes or a pack of 3 toothbrushes packaged together.

We will be collecting these at the Missions corner in the foyer. Here is an idea of how many we will need by July 2023:

NMI is sponsoring a  Run/Walk/Bike 5K to help raise money for the 2023 Mission Project.  Monies raised will go toward the District Work & Witness Trip to the Nazarene Church Plant in South Texas.

Join us on Saturday, May 27th at Indian Lake Nazarene Camp.  

Bike Ride begins at 10:00 AM

Race begins at 10:30 AM

Registration cost - $35 per person
