The Shepherd's Voice
What's Happening Today
As We Gather
The closing prayer of the funeral service begins with these words: “Lord God, our shepherd, You gather the lambs of Your flock into the arms of Your mercy and bring them home.” Describing Jesus as a Shepherd is a special image used in prayers, hymns, and Christian artwork. The believer receives a sense of assurance in knowing that the One being followed throughout life is Jesus, the Good Shepherd. The fact that our Lord chooses to repeat the words “I am the Good Shepherd” more than once indicates its importance to Him and to us. As we follow Jesus, we can be confident that He will lead us into that place where goodness and righteousness are eternal.

Our Christian Sympathy
is extended to the family and friends of Pat Dolan, mother of Kristin Wolf, who died early Wednesday morning, April 29. May the God of all comfort strengthen all who mourn with the hope and promise of the resurrection and reunion in heaven.
May Mission of the Month
has been postponed until May (hopefully). At that time, we will have an opportunity to support EarthShare NJ as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Until then, let's please support St. Gregory's Pantry, our local food pantry located in St. Mary's Episcopal Church on Bay Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach, as they help our neighbors in need who are experiencing economic hardships during this pandemic. This would be a great way to bring the compassion of Christ to our hurting neighbors so they can live with a little bit more hope and joy. Thank you!
May Mission Donations (can be dropped off at church in the morning)
St. Gregory’s Pantry: Non-perishable food
Misfit Angels: personal products, socks, blankets, granola bars, gift cards
What's Been Happening
We are now live-streaming our Services on our Facebook page, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Please join us via live-stream on Sundays at 9:30 AM! Our Services are also posted on our website, gsppnj.org, later in the morning for those who don't do Facebook or are not available at 9:30. Please share our Services as you see fit. God bless us, everyone!
We are hoping to begin collecting 'selfies' of individuals, couples, and families who are sheltering in place with a small message in hand such as, “We miss you”, “Safe at home”, etc., to feel connected during this time of isolation. Please send pictures to Gsppnj.email@example.com. We will show pictures each week during Sunday’s Service.

In Our Prayers
To add someone to our list, please fill out a pink Prayer Request Form and submit it to Pastor or the Church office. Also, please let us know when we can remove names. Prayer requests submitted without a pink form are removed after one week. If we have removed a name in error, please resubmit the name and accept our apologies. Thank you.
