The men serving on our Deacon Ministry Team are servant ministers who are called to help our pastors meet the needs of the church family.
Definition of paradox: A statement that appears contradictory - but when you look closer - you realize it makes sense in a way that you never saw before. If we really want to take Jesus seriously - you have to understand paradoxes. The next several sermons we’re going to look at the teachings of Jesus that are paradoxical.
Matthew 16:21-27…
Based on this paradoxical teaching let’s look at three things today…
EXAMPLE (v. 21)
In order for Jesus to be the person he was born to be - to live out his true calling in life – he had to lose himself.
OBJECTION (v. 22-23)
THE INVITATION (v. 24, 26)
Two implications:
Die to my old identity
Die to our old agenda
