Discipleship Defined

Matthew 28:16-20

Definition of discipleship: “A disciple is a believer who lovingly follows Jesus and intentionally helps others follow Him.”

Three key truths found in Matthew 28:16-17

  1. Obedience is always the expectation
  2. The right response is always reverence
  3. Your doubts don’t disqualify you

Three main points that will propel us to participate in His mission.

  1. Be convinced of the full authority of Jesus (v. 18)
  2. Be committed to follow the assignment of Jesus (vv. 19-20a)
  3. Be comforted by the faithful assurance of Jesus (v. 20b)

Closing Questions

  1. Are you a disciple of Jesus Christ?
  2. How are you doing in your Bible reading plan?
  3. Is there one person you will pour your life into?
