Welcome to Hope Talk

Word From Our Pastor

I wanted to finish the sermon with a reference to 1 Chronicles 4:9,10 which says, "Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain." And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested. This is an amazing note by Ezra about a man that no one has been introduced till this time. Jabez was honorable, humble, and honest. He pleaded with God to enlarge his territory for sure but it was so God’s hand would be with him to deliver him from evil so as not to hurt or harm others. He wanted to be a blessing to those he loved and cared for in his life and he requested that would allow for this to be his life. He found favor in God’s eyes and God granted his request. James said, You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. (Jm.4:2,3) We must ask with the right heart, one after God’s heart. Don’t be afraid to ask great things of God but do so with a heart that is in tune with His will and Word.

Well for those who desire it I have given the complete notes from Sunday for your benefit below. I hope it helps.
