Welcome to Hope Talk
The Lord is Good. The HS Youth were protected in the accident so no one was seriously hurt and it could have been much worse. We all chime in, “The Lord is Good” but consider… what if a couple of the teens had been seriously hurt? Is the Lord still Good? I know you may not want to consider this but is God good when things work out and not when things do not work out? Do circumstances determine the character and person of God or reflect it? Of course, we would say no but how do we settle our minds when disaster or catastrophes hit with illness or virus? The problem is one of faith, fact, and future. We have a promise from God that He will bring all things to good in the end (Rm.8:28) so we enact faith to believe God in that fact for the future. Yes, it is easier to recite that God is good when things work out but we also can have a strong impact in the unbelieving world when we hold to the same thing when we are going through difficult times. It was the difficult times that the early church (and all through church history) revealed great impact with their profound faith in God in persecution, death, and sorrow. So remember that God is Good all the time, in all circumstances, according to His will. The Lord is Good always.
