LIKE US, PETER GOT PUSHED AROUND BY RELIGIOUS FOLKS: A Study in 1 Peter
We have been looking at the letter 1 Peter over the last 2 months. Our Sermons and our CONNECT Groups have been continuing this focus. We began with the lectionary, which was then interrupted by things like Trinity Sunday and Pentecost. This week as we are interrupted again with our special Mission Sunday, I wanted to share something with you to keep you thinking about 1 Peter.
This devotion comes to us from Mark Driscoll. Mark has been through a rough time over the last decade. He was removed as Senior Pastor from one of the fastest growing churches in the USA, a church he started with his wife, and has had to start life afresh. My hope is that this won’t change your mind about reading this devotional but allow you to see that Mark writes this with understandings of the reality of difficulty and pain that come as we walk with Jesus. Even as we try to do what God calls us to do.
