• I've always considered the NKJV the "best of all worlds" translation. Literally rendered; modern but kept in the spirit of Tyndale and the KJV; keeps continuity with the historical Byzantine readings that the Church has long used since the patristic age; widely used by both Evangelicals and Orthodox; and last but not least, also has extensive footnotes that still give readings to critical variants (all of which are just as literally rendered as the NASB or ESV). I only wish that Faithlife offered more Study Bible editions from Thomas Nelson.
