- Good afternoon LCC family, A few Sundays ago, I shared a report about family camp at Word of Life and an invitation for next year. This email is to give some details and logistics about Family Camp. It would be awesome to have some other families from LCC go to family camp the same week. Some other churches do this, and I got some recommendations and ideas in that regard from some of them and the director of the camp. Why Family Camp? Many of you have heard my testimony about the impact camp had on my parents and family growing up. Yes, camp week for teens & juniors is important, and they need that; we want to push that. But the family and the local church are the primary contexts for discipleship that God has put in place. Yes, you can go on a vacation, but let’s be honest, often those are either entertaining and busy or visiting with extended family. God set parents and the nuclear family as the primary disciplers, the fundamental institution of society, and a foundational institution for a local church. Camp is a time for unplugging and connecting. Unplugging from the day-to-day responsibilities and distractions and connecting with God and your family. There are a ton of fun activities, good preaching, awesome food, and memorable experiences. Is it just for families? No, there are singles, couples, grandparents, etc.; all are welcome to come to camp! When & Where? Word Of Life Pines. July 23rd to 29th, 2023 (Week #5) Each family/unit will register on their own and choose your own housing and activity options. (Can’t make that week happen? Try and go another week. It would just be cool to have several LCC families there at the same time. Housing Options: WOL has an option for whatever type of “camper” you are. Check out the pics on their website. Cabins/Cottages - these go the fastest, so they may be already taken. Primitive Cabins Lakeside Luxury - Hotel rooms type housing on the lake a very short distance from the pines. Campsites: Both RV & Trailers as well as many tent sites. Several bathhouses with full showers and restrooms are available if you’re planning to rough it. Laundry is also available. Food: You can either prepare your own or choose from several meal plans offered by the camp. Happy Camping! ;-)

The Offices of the Church
Beloved,
Last week I mentioned that we are beginning the section of the doctrine of the church, which discusses the offices of the church for the next three weeks.
Some of you may have wondered "why three weeks" if there are only two offices. Has this guy changed his doctrinal position or something? Or maybe he just can't count...we know math isn't his strong suit, right? :-)
It is appropriate and Biblically warranted to recognize that being a member of a church is itself an office also- an office that comes with both authority and responsibility.
This week we'll be looking at the Biblical basis for church membership, the who and whom of membership, and what a church member's responsibilities are. I trust this will be edifying to each of us and bring glory to the head of the church, Christ.
Can't wait to see you this Sunday!
Grace to you,
Pastor Jayson

Purity & Unity
Beloved,
I trust you are having a wonderful week walking with Christ. What a wonderful time of singing and testimonies we had last Sunday evening. My heart was encouraged greatly.
Have you noticed that there is a plethora (HT vocab word for Ruth :-) of churches and religious organizations out there? It can be overwhelming the variety even among those that claim to be based upon the Bible. How is one church supposed to relate to other churches? That's the issue we will be addressing this Sunday. Our plan, Lord willing, is to look at what the scriptures teach concerning the unity and purity of the church.
This is also the last Sunday for our "Summer Seminars." Next week we'll be discussing and applying our summer series during a Q&R time with myself and Pastor George following the worship service. You'll hear more about that next week.
Can't wait to see you this Sunday!
Grace to you,
Pastor Jayson
