Welcome to History of Western Civilization from 1715 - a survey course of the last 400 years, with a focus on the history of Europe and North America. Every region of the world has a unique history worthy of study. This course provides an opportunity for students from North America to understand the history and development of their specific context - as well as provides an opportunity for students who have not grown up in North American/Europe an opportunity to learn more about the ideas, developments, etc. that have shaped this part of our world today. Course Instructor: Assistant Professor Daniel Ostendorff is currently completely his doctoral work from the University of Oxford on the modern history of East Africa ( his MA in Modern History: British Empire is from Queens University Belfast and he holds a BA in History and Biblical & Theological Studies from John Brown University). Mr. Ostendorff serves as the Chair for the Department of Criminal Justice, History, & Political Science at LeTourneau University (www.letu.edu) where he teaches History and Political Science courses.
