    Sunday School

This week the kids learned that God parted the Red Sea.

    Summary

    • God led His people toward the Red Sea.
    • Pharaoh’s heart became hard again, and he decided to go recapture the Israelites.
    • Moses reminded the people that God would fight for them.
    • God parted the Red Sea for His people to cross, but He destroyed Pharaoh’s army in the sea when they followed.

    Christ connection

Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, and God provide a way for them to escape through the Red Sea. The Bible says that Jesus is greater than Moses (Hebrews 3:3). People who trust in Jesus escape the penalty of sin and have eternal life.

    Key Passage

God is not man, that he should lie,

or a son of man, that he should change his mind.

Has he said, and will he not do it?

Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

    Numbers 23:19

    Big picture question

Does God keep His promises? Yes, God always keeps His promises because He is faithful.

      Sunday School

This week the kids learned that God delivered His people.

      Summary

      • Moses and Aaron told Pharoah to let the Israelites go free, but Pharaoh refused.
      • God sent plagues to judge Egypt.
      • God spared Israel from the tenth plague because they spread the blood of spotless lambs on their doorposts.
      • All the firstborn sons in Egypt died, so Pharaoh sent the Israelites away.

      Christ connection

By His grace, God spared the Israelites from judgment by requiring the blood of a lamb. Jesus is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. His death was the ultimate sacrifice, and those who trust in Jesus are under His saving blood and will be passed over in the final judgment.

      1. Mark 2:1-12: Your Sins are Forgiven (Dec. 4, 2022)

        Worship Service

This Sunday we looked at Mark 2:1-12, which is when Jesus healed a paralytic. We were left with an important question: does my life cause a rumor that Jesus lives in me?

        Sunday School

This week the kids learned about about when God called Moses.

        Summary

        • The Israelites were enslaved by the Egyptians.
        • Pharaoh ordered the Israelites’ baby sons to be killed, but God protected Moses.
        • Moses fled Egypt after killing an Egyptian for beating an Israelite.
        • God called Moses to lead his people to freedom.

        Christ connection

God saved Moses’ life and called him to rescue God’s people from slavery. The calling of Moses points to a greater calling and rescue–the call of Jesus to come to earth to save God’s people. Jesus gave up His life to save us from slavery to sin.
