  • Asleep At The Wheel

    Driving is a complex task with many working parts. The driver’s awareness can significantly impact both long and short commutes. Our life as believes requires the same amount of alertness as we navigate through life.
    Sleep is defined as a regularly recurring condition of body and mind in which the nervous system is inactive, the eyes closed, the postural muscles relaxed, and consciousness practically suspended.
    To be asleep is to be in a state of sleep, to be not attentive or alert.
    To be asleep at the wheel is an expression about the timing of rest in contrast to activity.
    Last week we looked at the sovereignty of God. We recognized that God’s activity does not cease when we are sleeping. God’s greatest gift to Adam came when he slept.

    21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
    The Man’s recognized God created woman

    8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
    It was paradise on Earth
    ++No rain was needed
    ++No man tilled the ground
    ++There was nothing for man to do

    15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

    A man without an assignment will do nothing

    God provides opportunity

    Man Sought satisfaction apart from God’s plan

    You will never find satisfaction in this life apart from God.

    I did not say you will never have

    Many will live this life with all these things only to die successful failures

    Why did the heaven’s rejoice?

    When satan was removed from heaven there was reason to rejoice!

    Now the battle on earth begins

    Don’t be found asleep at the wheel
    ++Now is the time
    ++Wake up
    ++Watch and pray
    ++Be sober and vigilant

    The warfare doesn’t stop when we are sleeping.
