A Note from Pastor Jerry!
Hey! How are you doin'? It's a common question lately in light of the lives we are currently living. It's a good question to ask, with sincerity. Many of us are doing pretty well, considering. But, there are some who need a bit more interaction. Maybe they're single, no family around, unemployed, retired, not physically strong, and haven't been socializing very much. It can be lonely at times when you're primary source of interaction is going to work and now you're working from home, too, or going shopping and you never see any friendly faces!
I'd like to ask you to do something. Not for me, but for someone else. Someone who just might need a quick note dropped in the mail, a text, an email, or even a phone call! (GOING OLD SCHOOL!) Here's what you do: first, stop and pray to the Lord to bring someone to your attention. Then wait. The Holy Spirit may impress 1 name on your heart and spirit, or maybe a dozen! Go with it! Make a contact with each one and see what blessing He has put in place for you to give... and to receive!
In this Advent season, the good things we do for one another will be signs of the Messiah's reign in our own lives. We spoke about hope last Sunday as something that is the result of a promise made by God and we can lean into it with faith knowing He makes good on all His promises. We can also encourage hope in others as we live out what we believe about Jesus.
Next Sunday, we'll take a peak at PEACE! This is surely something else that our world is in deep need of; so much arguing and powerplaying drama being magnified in the media. We need a peace that surpasses all our understanding (& misunderstandings).
I hope you can join us in-person, or on FB LIVE this next Sunday! Tune in for "Announcements & Updates" with Debb & Seth, get the song links to listen to that go along with the message theme, and be ready to recieve the Word of God. This Sunday is also a COMMUNION SUNDAY! If you'll be home, why not get some juice and a cracker at the ready and join with us? We'll take the bread and the cup at the end of message.
Are you with me?
Blessings to you~
Pastor Jerry & Debb
OPEN FOR WORSHIP IN-PERSON & ONLINE!
We want to assure you that we are remaining open for in-person worship, taking precautions and making sure the facility continues to be sanitized after our Sunday worship. We want to remind all who would attend of these important guidelines:
1. Attend ONLY if you are NOT experiencing signs of illness-
(i.e. - fever, persistent/active cough, unusual tiredness or fatigue, shortness of breath, muscle aches, chills, sore throat, runny nose, headache)
2. If you've been directly exposed to someone within the last 48 hrs who has tested Covid positive, have had a recent loss of taste, or just not sure you should be around others, please follow the CDC's guidelines for self-quarentining. You may not have it, but we'd rather you miss a Sunday than to cause someone else to become ill.
3. Minimize your risk by using hand sanitizer, being contientious of the space you give others and yourself, wear a mask, limit touching your eyes and nose, or simply stay at home. You can watch the Sunday message on FB Live by going to New Horizons Community Church's Facebook page.
We want to be sure to remind our church family to be diligent in their self-protection & others-protection. We want to encourage folks to spread out in our large worship area and know that you won't be crowded. If it is too uncomfortable or the risk is too high for you to be around others for worship who may not be wearing a face covering, we understand. We love you and want to see you stay healthy so we can see you again at New Horizons when this crazy season of life is done.
Communion this Sunday!
This Sunday we will be taking communion in person AND online.
So if you participate online be sure to have bread and juice ready so we can remember Jesus life, death, and resurrection together as the body of Christ.
