Week 4 "Pride Kills, Prayer Heals"
A Note from Pastor Jerry!
THIS SUNDAY @ 2PM! !!! LET'S COME TOGETHER TO PRAY BLESSING OVER A COUPLE JACKSON NEIGHBORHOODS!!!!
After worship on Sunday, run home and change into your sneakers and a light weight pair of pants and a shirt, grab a sandwich, and meet back @ NHCC (temp is gonna be 75-80!). We'll give out to maps and rally our teams. We have an awesome opportunity to exercise our faith in prayer for people who may need a word from the Lord via being prayed over. How simple is this? Really simple.
Just a few weeks ago, we went through a series called, "B.L.E.S.S.." To effect change in people's lives we understand that someone needs to BEGIN WITH PRAYER. So, lets put that into action!
Many churches around Jackson have been assigned a zone to go to and pray over. We'll be praying over neighborhoods, businesses, schools, the jail, the youth detention center, apartment complexes, and whatever else might be in our assigned zones. We're partnering up with other faithful believers in Jesus to bring the power of the Holy Spirit to bring change to lives!
People are really hurting and need fresh hope to blow into their lives. Just think, someone's life could be changed by our simple obedience to go to where they live and pray BLESSING over them.
If I don't see you in worship, hope to see you for our Prayer Walk/Drive! (if you have trouble walking, no worries, there'll be a car you can ride in to follow and be a part of the crew!)
From Larry Osborne's book, Thriving in Babylon,
"God is much more concerned about our ultimate holiness than He is about our current happiness. He is much more interested in the way we respond to difficulties than he is in alleviating our current pain. This is not an easy way to view God, and it's counter-cultural. And, yet, if we look back on our lives when we had the most significant spiritual growth, it came smack-dab in the middle of difficulties. There is hope, no matter what you face in this day. God is at work."
OPEN FOR WORSHIP IN-PERSON & Live Streaming ONLINE!
Sundays @ 10:45am -- mynewhoriozns.org
We want to assure you that we are remaining open for in-person worship, taking precautions and making sure the facility continues to be sanitized after our Sunday worship. We want to remind all who attend of these important guidelines:
1. Attend ONLY if you are NOT experiencing signs of illness
2. If you've been directly exposed to someone within the last 48 hrs who has tested Covid positive.
3. Minimize your risk by using personal hand sanitizer or those mounted on the wall outside the santuary and by PJ's office, being conscientious of the space you give others and yourself, wear a mask if you so desire, and limit touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Cover any cough or sneeze with a tissue.
We want to be sure to remind our church family to be diligent in the above practices. We want to encourage folks to spread out in our large worship area and know that you won't be crowded. We love you and want to see you stay healthy at New Horizons Church.
