YOUR DREAM DETERMINES YOUR FUTURE Part 1
  • YOUR DREAM DETERMINES YOUR FUTURE

WHAT WAS THE DIFFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE PEOPLE?
    Children of Israel
    King David: Fighting Goliath
Jonathan and his armor bearer: Fighting a huge army on their own
King David: Fighting GoliathJonathan and his armor bearer: Fighting a huge army on their own
THE DIFFERENCE WAS THE VISION THEY SAW IN THEIR MIND
    IMPORTANCE OF A DREAM

    IMPORTANCE OF A DREAM

If a dream or vision was not important... God would have never taken the time to give Abraham the long-lasting picture of the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore.
    LOOK AT THE STARS
    Genesis 15:1–6 NLT
Some time later, the Lord spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.” But Abram replied, “O Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth. You have given me no descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my heir.” Then the Lord said to him, “No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.” Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.
BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT WITHHELD YOUR SON I WILL BLESS YOU .... STARS AND SAND ON SEASHORE
    Genesis 22:15–18 NLT
Then the angel of the Lord called again to Abraham from heaven. “This is what the Lord says: Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.”

    3. That is where true productivity comes from.
    Trust Comes Before Rest

    Trust Comes Before Rest

Don't worry or be anxious about anything
    Philippians 4:6 NLT
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
When you are worrying or being anxious you cannot rest
You must rest before you can dream
You must dream before you can be healed and receive vision
    Trust Comes Before Rest

    1. GOD HAS A DREAM FOR YOU

The plans I have for you declares the Lord
    Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
You must trust God before you will be able to rest in God
Your plans for us are so many
    Psalm 40:5 NLT
O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them.
Come to me, all you who are weary and and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Come to me, all you who are weary and and burdened, and I will give you rest.
    Matthew 11:28 NLT
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
You must rest in God before you will be able to have of God's dream for your life.
You must have God's dream for your life before you can be healed and made whole.
Were there is no vision, the people perish.
    Proverbs 29:18 NLT
When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.
In those days messages and visions from the Lord were rareGod comes to Samuel in his sleep...
    1 Samuel 3:1 NLT
Meanwhile, the boy Samuel served the Lord by assisting Eli. Now in those days messages from the Lord were very rare, and visions were quite uncommon.
How can they believe in on they have not heard... A dream must come from a revelation
    Romans 10:13–15 NLT
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
    2. GOD'S DREAM WILL WORK FOR YOU

    2. GOD'S DREAM WILL WORK FOR YOU

God's dream for your life is that you would be all that he created you to be. This is the only place that you can be fulfilled.
You will be healed by the dream that God has put within you
Plans to prosper you, to give you a future and a hope
Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save
    3. JUST BELIEVE

    3. JUST BELIEVE

    GOD IS MOVED BY FAITH
To him who believes all things are possible
    Mark 9:23 NLT
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
Without faith it is impossible to believe God
    Hebrews 11:6 NLT
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Faith as small as a mustard seed
    Matthew 17:20 NLT
“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
Whoever would believe would not perish
    John 3:16 NLT
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
With the heart man believes and is made righteous
    Romans 10:9–10 NLT
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
4 Things that will kill your dream

4 Things that will kill your dream

    1. Fear:

    1. Fear:

The children of Israel were afraid of the giants
We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes
    Numbers 13:33 NLT
We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!”
God has not given us a spirit of fear
    2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
    2. Discouragement:

    2. Discouragement:

C.O.I were discouraged because of not getting what they wanted when they wanted it.
    Lack of water...
    Numbers 20:3–4 NLT
The people blamed Moses and said, “If only we had died in the Lord’s presence with our brothers! Why have you brought the congregation of the Lord’s people into this wilderness to die, along with all our livestock?
Why be downcast oh my soul
    Psalm 42:5 NLT
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and
    3. Doubt:

    3. Doubt:

C.O.I would not believe that God really loved them and had a plan for them.
He who doubts is like a wave of the sea / won't receive from the Lord
    James 1:6–8 NLT
But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.
    4. Murmuring:

    4. Murmuring:

The COI murmured and God was very displeased with them.
    Murmurers and complainers
    Jude 16 NLT
These people are grumblers and complainers, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want.
    Should not grumble
    1 Corinthians 10:9–10 NLT
Nor should we put Christ to the test, as some of them did and then died from snakebites. And don’t grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death.
