Scripture Reference

PROVERBS 12:14-22

He who speaks truth tells what is right, but a false witness, deceit. 18There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. 19Truthful lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only for a moment. 20Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but counselors of peace have joy. 21No harm befalls the righteous, but the wicked are filled with trouble. 22Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who deal faithfully are His delight.

JOHN 8:44

You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

PROVERBS 6:16-17a

There are six things which the LORD hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to Him. Haughty eyes, a lying tongue.

PROVERBS 19a

A false witness who utters lies.

PROVERBS 22:1a

A good name is more desired than great riches.

PROVERBS 11:3

The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them.

PROVERBS 12:13a NLT

The wicked are trapped by their own words.

PROVERBS 19:5

A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who tells lies will not escape.

REVELATION 21:8

The cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone.

REVELATION 21:27

Nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

REVELATION 22:15

Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.

PROVERBS 12:22a

Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord.

MATTHEW 26:33 NLT

Peter declared, “Even if everyone else deserts you, I will never desert you.”

MATTHEW 26:35

"Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You." All the disciples said the same thing too.

PSALM 15:1-4

O LORD, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill? 2He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, and speaks truth in his heart. 3He does not slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend; 4in whose eyes a reprobate is despised, but who honors those who fear the LORD; he swears to his own hurt and does not change.

PROVERBS 12:19

Truthful lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only for a moment.
