Pastor's Assistant

First EC Church is seeking an administrative assistant to the pastor. The administrative assistant provides clerical support to the pastors and supports the church office for 10 hours per week. The assistant must be able to function independently and always maintain confidentiality. Primary duties include assisting with correspondence, preparing paper and digital versions of the weekly bulletin, preparing the weekly Proclaim presentation for the Sunday worship service, maintaining the church calendar, maintaining the church databases of members, etc., and updating Faithlife and the church’s other online sites. Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required. Interested individuals should submit a resume and letter of interest to the Pastor Relations Committee, First Evangelical Congregational Church, 50 W. Main St., Palmyra, PA 17078.  See Bob Klaczak or Amanda Stroup with any questions. 

Opportunities for service

The SOS team has scheduled the following three dates for volunteers to help prepare the Free Noon Meal at Lebanon County Christian Ministries:

  Sat, June 25, 9:00-12:00 or 11:00-2:00

  Fri, July 29, 9:00-12:00 or 11:00-2:00

  Wed, August 31, 9:00-12:00 or 11:00-2:00

The 1st shift will prepare and serve approximately 200, easy to put together meals. The 2nd shift will arrive to finish up any prep needed for the meal, help to serve and then clean up the kitchen, and should be finished by 2:00. The meal is served from 12:00 - 1:00.

Some sitting work is also available for those who cannot be on their feet for the extended period of time.
