Paul W. Ferris

Dr. Paul Wayne Ferris Jr.is Professor of Hebrew Bible at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. In addition to a teaching and leadership ministry in theological education in the United States, Canada, Egypt, Haiti, Israel, and Romania, Dr. Ferris has served as a pastor, church planter, and hospital chaplain.

Dr. Ferris is the author of The Genre of Communal Lament in the Bible and the Ancient Near East (Scholars Press), The Expositor’s Bible Commentary section on Lamentations, and the Zondervan Illustrated Bible Backgrounds Commentary section on Lamentations. He has contributed signed articles to The Wycliffe Bible Encyclopedia, The Anchor Bible Dictionary, the Dictionary of the Old Testament: Wisdom, Poetry & Writings, the Dictionary of the Old Testament Prophets, and the Lexham Bible Dictionary.

Dr. Ferris and his wife Lois are the proud parents of three married children. They also have five wonderful grandchildren.
