PFBC Notes
Personal Note by Pastor Alan
In our daily reading on Wednesday we read the book of Lamentations. That was a sad book! Jeremiah is mourning the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple. In the midst of all that destruction, he knew that God was right in judging Israel because of her disobedience. Yet in the middle of what was happening he says this in chapter 3 verses 21-24, " Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s faithful love we do not perish, for his mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness! I say, “The LORD is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in him.”
Isn't it nice to know that you can count on God everyday. He is faithful in spite of our actions. He forgives us and refreshes us as we go to Him for guidance. So where do you place your hope? Is it in yourself, your job, your family, the politicians, or something else? Let's remember that it is only through our Lord God Almighty that we have our hope, so place it in Him.
