The updated affirmation sheets have been emailed to you. Please print and send or drop off your response by next Sunday, December 19th. There are some paper copies at the welcome desk.
The next ladies Bible study starts Friday, January 7th @ 8 am. We will be studying Beth Moore’s, Galatians study called, “Now that Faith Has Come”. You are welcome to join either on line or in person. Contact Emily if interested.

“A Holy Family Christmas” is a free community event on December 18 from 1-3 pm at the Laker Legacy Center, aimed at introducing and reinforcing the true meaning of Christmas, especially for children. Volunteers are still needed for that event. Some of those are things that can be done in advance such as making signs, and sewing costumes. If you are interested please see the updated volunteer list at the Welcome Center.
Reminder: Next Saturday the Relief/Missions Committee will be packing Christmas goody bags for our Primary Dept. children, our seniors (ages 65 and above), and inmates at the Huron County jail. Individually wrapped homemade goodies or store bought cookies and candy are needed to fill the bags. If you would like to contribute, please leave your items in the church kitchen by Sat., Dec 18 @ 9:00 am. Thank you for giving generously as we bless those around us.
Make plans now to join - Faithfully Fit in January. This accountability group, formally known as the Menno Knights, will encourage participants to lose weight and/or get more exercise. New this year is access to the Legacy Center at Lakers to all Faithfully Fit participants for a total of $30 for the three months of the program. Sign up now at the Welcome Center. Would you like to join a team for Scheurer Fit? This program provides consultation with a dietician and fitness coach, and three fitness classes per week. We are looking for team members and someone to lead a Pigeon River team. Contact Marie if you are interested.
Consider inviting your friends or family to attend the Longest Night Service here on December 21 at 7 PM. This service acknowledges that while Christmas is a time of joy for many, it is a difficult season for others as the pain and struggle of grief is often overlooked. Come for prayers, scripture, communion, and candle lighting as we gather together, a people who, though living in darkness, have seen a great light.
The Reading Group will read the book, The Insanity of God this winter. Sign up at the Welcome Center, book available Dec. 1 on a donation basis. The discussion group will meet March 12, 7 pm in the youth room. Contact Dale for questions.
Our Annual Church Celebration is scheduled for January 23rd. In preparing for that meeting and the annual report book we need to hear from you. If you are a Ministry chairperson or serve as chair of a committee please provide a report of this past year. The reports are due on January 5th. Please send them to secretary@pigeonriverchurch.com. Handyman crew: Are you in need of a little assistance with a handyman project around your home and not sure who to ask? Dale Ackerman is available to help or will find someone who is capable.
