It's Your Turn July 11, 2017 I remember growing up, I would wake up on Saturday mornings to the aroma of cinnamon steaming from fresh French toast and remember thinking, that smells like comfort. At the time I didn't have a care in the world. This is pretty universal thinking for anybody growing up for the most part. You woke up, were fed, and taken care of until at some point life decided to turn that agenda around and you were forced to find out that this life was not going to be lived on a bed of roses. Time after time again you may find yourself reminiscing of simpler times that gives you a sense of comfort. But what is past comfort compared to eternal peace? Sometimes we wish we could go back to those times of comfort, but oftentimes that time of comfort is a smokescreen to keep you from fulfilling the purpose of God in your life. We are in a period now where we are able to witness so many going through something. It may be a health crisis, family crisis, and/or financial crisis. In most cases we were able to witness it as someone looking from outside the window. It was easy to encourage and build up someone else as they went through their test. But now it's your turn. Your time has come and you have been thrusted into the furnace to be tried. You find yourself asking why me Lord? The answer, why NOT you? There are no exemption statuses when it comes to living and at some point you will have to go through something. For some that thing you're going through is now. Whether it's to humble, keep you humbled, teach you something about yourself, remove you from a sinful situation, or to help somebody else when you come out. I encourage you to remain steadfast the same way you were able to encourage someone else you may just have to look in the mirror and say self, no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Everybody will have their turn at bat but when it's you, will you hit that trial out of the park or let it strike you out? The choice is yours. Job 1:8, "And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?" ~Minister Poet~
