I have a problem with the sermon editor in Logos 7. I am doing a training video on it and it tells me to click the rectangular box to the left of the sermon title then click edit. My problem is that there is no rectangular box next to the sermon title to vlick. I am unable to access the PowerPoint options in the sermon editor. Has this option changed or been removed? How do I access it?
- Barron1961 This may be a longer answer than you are looking for. There are a few different workflows and you will find one that works well for your process. This is mine. When creating a sermon thru Sermon Editor that I want to export to PowerPoint, I follow the following steps: 1) I like to add all of my text for the slides, 2) Mark any words or phrases that will use the 'fill in' format, 3) Then highlight the portion of text I want for each slide (one slide at a time), and select 'Add slide from selected text'. **(If you format text as a heading, it will also create a slide.) This will create a slide image (or a few stacked images depending on if my slides have fill in areas defines). 5) After I create my slides, I right-click the first slide image at the top and 'Edit' it by adding desired formatting and a media background. 6) Save it by selecting 'Update Sermon', 7) Then right-click again and select 'Apply this style to all slides' (or all heading slides or all paragraph slides) depending on how I want things to look. 8) Optionally, I do any other formatting for things like Questions, Handout, speaker notes. 9) The last thing I do is select 'Export' from the top right of the Sermon Editor screen and choose 'Export to Powerpoint'. 10) It gives me two options - Fully rendered, or editable text. This is your preference. If you still aren't seeing slides, and you've identified text as a Heading format or have highlighted text and said to make it a slide, it may be that your View option on the right side of the formatting bar that says 'Show slides' could be unchecked. I'd love to hear if anyone has a different workflow they use for creating their sermon notes.
- Thank you for your help, Jennifer. My slides are now showing up and can be edited. This was becoming very frustrating for me and your help was invaluable. God bless you!
