I'm transitioning out of Projector and just starting to work through Proclaim. There were a few questions I had as I was messing with it this afternoon. I made a sample presentation that would be similar to how we ran with Projector. The Apple tv and the iPad we use to run our presentations are set up on the same network. So I have some questions about what I can do and can't do with Proclaim, especially using the remote. We don't have a computer at church for presentations, we've just used the ipad to switch slides. Do I need one at the church using On Air mode? When I'm using the iPad to run the presentation, the slideshow in the pre service loop doesn't go on to the next slide, even though it is set to in Proclaim. Does the laptop I have Proclaim on need to be in On Air Mode for that to work, or does the auto advance work without having that on? The same thing is true of videos. It doesn't play, even though I 'm connected to the Internet. Does On Air have to be on for that? Same with the OSB. If I put verses on the presentation using OSB, they won't show up using the ipad. Although if I put verses on without using the OSB, it works fine. This is new software for me, but I really do like Proclaim so far. I think it'll work well for our small church. Thanks.
- Hello Matt Miller welcome and glad you are up and running with Proclaim! You don't need a computer to use Proclaim as you can connect your iPad using your Apple TV. However, the best ways to use Proclaim are with a presentation computer. https://support.proclaimonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/206874426-Can-I-use-Proclaim-with-my-Apple-TV- You will need a computer if you want to go on air as videos, OSB, and Bible Trivia won't be displayed, but rather just a thumbnail on your iPad. To display verses you will have to use a traditional bible service item. To take full advantage of the pre-service loop, you will need a presentation computer when using the iPad and Apple TV since technically you are not on air. Rather you are just pulling your slides from the cache and presenting them in an order as you created them. This route you will have to manually advance each slide using the remote since you don't have a presentation computer where you can tell to 'auto advance.' Or items in the pre-service loop will do that for you as well continually loop until your service time. Feel free to ask more questions as I look forward to helping you out with Proclaim. - Okay, I've added a presentation computer to our setup. A PC, but I'm having some issues getting our presentation to show up on our apple tv, which is hooked up to our projector. I figured out how to control the presentation on my iPad, but it doesn't sync up or show on the projector, but it does on the laptop, even though the presentation is "on air". Everything is on the same network, iPad, laptop and apple tv. Any suggestions? Thanks.
- Matt Miller so although the Proclaim Remote can Airplay, its support is still new and limited. We dont support auto-advance, videos, or web-based items like OSB or Bible Trivia. Currently, Airplaying from the iPad is great for small groups, or simple presentations. Now that you have a PC, you'll need to hook up the PC to the projector directly. If you were using a Mac, you could Airplay, but I haven't found this to be as reliable as it is from an iPad or iPhone. Then you will go On Air on the PC and you can use the iPad to control the presentation, however the PC is what will be outputting to the screen.
