I really think that I am missing something in the new way that Logos does highlights. For years now I have been highlighting passages about various topics (God's Character, Grace, Salvation, etc.) and was able to see a document with all of those specific highlights. It seems no longer. I am able to associate a notebook with the highlight pallet, but the notebook is blank and doesn't show everything I have highlighted in the past.
I tried to do a visual filter in ESV to show, but the list of visual filters available to me does not show all of my created highlighting pallets. (Some, but not all) So, as of right now, I am trying to do a specific study on God's grace that I have been highlighting, and am unable to see a list of those highlights. Can anyone please help me? What am I missing?
The two images that I uploaded show what I am talking about. One shows the highlighter pallet with a pallet called "Grace - 0 - Study" and the other shows the visual filters available to me and under highlights it goes from "E" to "H", not showing any of my various pallets on Grace.
Thank you for any help, direction, advice that you can give. This is concerning as I have dozens of highlight pallets with hundreds of verses correlated over a decade of study and I don't seem to have easy access any longer to seeing them.
- The list of entries in the Visual Filter is not the list of palettes in the highlighting tool - it is the notebooks that contain either notes or highlights relevant to that resource. Often they have the same name as - often - the notes document (pre Logos 8) used to store notes and highlights had the same name as the palette. Some questions: 1) What notebook is associated with the "Grace - 0 - Study" palette? 2) Do you have any notes or highlights in that notebook? 3) If so, would you expect any of them to show up in the ESV? (So either specific to the ESV or notes on verses that would show in all versifed resources). Only if conditions 2 & 3 are met would you expect to see the notebook (identiifed in 1) in the visual filter dropdown for the resource. Above you say that notebooks appear but are blank. When you migrated from Logos 7-8, Notes Documents should have been converted to Notes Notebooks with the same name and the contents moved across. Are you saying that this didn't happen? This if - of course - a separate issue to whether notes and highlights created directly in Logos 8 appear correctly.
- To answer your questions: 1) The Notebook "Grace - 0 - Study" is associated with the palette. 2) There are no highlights or notes in the notebook currently 3) I have hundreds of highlights in ESV that use that palette, so I would expect them to be in the notebook and in ESV. I am saying that they didn't migrate, or at least I can't find where they migrated to. That is my main question, how can I get access to these and also see them as a visual filter. So, should I be posting in another section?
- 3) I have hundreds of highlights in ESV that use that palette, so I would expect them to be in the notebook and in ESV. - so just to clarify do these highlights show in the ESV at the moment? So, should I be posting in another section? - that is probably a good idea. Either in the Logos Notes Faithlife Group (as it seems to be more of a Notes issue than a Visual Filter one) or in the Logos 8 community forum at https://community.logos.com/forums/147.aspx. Personally I would recommend the forum but I don't know if you are used to engaging with those.
