*and*
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
I trust God *and* I lock my doors.
I trust God *and* I wear my seatbelt.
I trust God *and* I protect my children away from harm.
I trust God *and* I take my prescribed medicines.
I trust God *and* I wear protective gear in the presence of infected persons.
I trust God *and* I practice social distancing to share the task of flattening the curve.
Trusting God and wisdom (prudence) are not mutually exclusive.
Or as my grandmother recently said: “Use the good sense the Good Lord gave you!”
