Second Coming of Christ | Segunda Venida de Cristo
"In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the Angel of the LORD before them.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication: and they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn." (Zechariah 12:8-10)
In His first coming, Jesus came as the suffering servant. In His second coming, He will return as the victorious king that will save His people Israel; who will recognize Him as the one that they pierced and rejected.
Christ's Glorious Return
(Revelation 19:11-21)
As King of Kings and Lord of Lords
"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He does judge and make war.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself.
And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called the Word of God. (verses 11-13)
And out of His mouth went a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And He had on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." (verses 15-16)
With the Heavenly Armies
"And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean." (verse 14)
This glorious event comes right after the marriage of the Lamb to His church (Revelation 19:5-10); at which time it was "granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints." When He returns, His bride (us) will return with Him as part of His heavenly army. We will be clothed in the fine linen provided us at the wedding; and, we will be in our new, immortal bodies, which we received at the rapture.
To Defeat the Beast and Deliver Israel
"And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against His army.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of His mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh." (verses 19-21)
Those who do not know Jesus as their Savior have every reason to be afraid; but, are too spiritually blind to even know it. As His ambassadors, it is our responsibility to tell them about the danger that lies ahead for them and about their wonderful Savior, who loved them enough to give His life for them. The Lord has opened a door of opportunity to do so in this time of crisis. We cannot afford to let this opportunity go to waste.
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." (Romans 12:1)
---------------------
(Romanos 12:1)
