The Millennium Reign of Christ | El Reino Milenario de Cristo
"I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like the pure wool; His throne was like the fiery flame, and His wheels as burning fire.
A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him: thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him: the judgement was set, and the books were opened. (Daniel 7:9-10)
I saw in the night visions, and, behold one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought Him near before Him.
And there was given Him dominion and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve Him: His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." (Daniel 7:13-14)
In this passage, Daniel is describing his night vision concerning earthly kingdoms to come, with its prophecy of one, final, everlasting kingdom that would be ushered in by "one like the Son of man with the clouds of heaven." In Daniel chapter 2, King Nebuchadnezzar had been given a similar dream in which a stone "cut out without hands" would demolish the earthly kingdoms and that God would set up a kingdom that would "stand for ever." (Daniel 2:34-35, 44-45) It is in Matthew 24:30 that Jesus describes His second coming, "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." Jesus often referred to Himself as "the Son of man" in reference to His being the One prophesied in the Book of Daniel.
It is for this kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray, "Thy kingdom come." in Luke 11:2. It is the time that we call "The Millennium"... a time of perfect righteousness on the throne; and many amazing events.
Christ's 1000 Year Kingdom - The Millennium
Revelation 20:1-6
Satan in Chains
"And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season." (verses 1-3)
The Millennium will begin with Satan being removed from the scene. He will no longer be here to tempt and deceive. Life on earth will be quite different during The Millennium.
"And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hand; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection; on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years." (verses 4-6)
The first resurrection mentioned here is the resurrection of the tribulation period saints, who were killed for their faith. We've seen a glimpse of them in Revelation 6:9-11. "The rest of the dead" refers to the unbelievers who died as well, but will not be resurrected until the final judgment.
As we saw yesterday, after the marriage of the Lamb, we will be part of the armies of heaven that will be with Christ during His glorious return. We will also be part of His perfect reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
"And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and His name One." (Zechariah 14:9)
