"Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv. has announced that the suspension of the obligation to attend Sunday Mass has been extended until Monday, September 28, and the suspension will be reviewed again at the end of September. The archbishop encourages those who are healthy and are not burdened with the fear of being exposed to the virus to begin returning to Mass and receive the grace of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist." _______ Instead of watching the Eucharist online or on TV, Turn them off and proclaim the Word of God as a family or if you are alone by yourself share via phone with another parishioner or family member. Here is a simple format for a Sunday Celebration at Home for those who cannot attend St. Mark Parish or St. Dominic Chapel in this time of pandemic: 1-Sing a hymn. Then begin with the sign of the Cross and a simple prayer: Lord we (I) stand before your presence. Now that we (I) cannot be present in the parish because of this pandemic, I humbly ask you to allow your Word by your Holy Spirit to enter my life this Sunday, your day of victory of love. 2-Proclaim the Word with your spouse, family members or if you live alone call another parishioner or family member to plan the Sunday Liturgy before hand. Remember, to stand at the proclamation of the Gospel. 3-Share what part of the Gospel (or any of the Readings) speaks to you out loud. 4-Pray the Creed (standing), prayers of the faithful: Receive Lord these prayers we humbly present before you. A-For Pope Francis, Archbishop Gregory John, his auxiliaries Bernard and Joel, all the clergy and laity that we may be faithful in living the Gospel message. We pray to the Lord R. Hear us Father of Mercy. B- For our political leaders to attend with just laws to the need of the homeless, the immagrant, and the poor in our society. C- For all of us in St. Mark Parish may be a sign of God's love as we care for all those in need at home and in our society by doing good to all. D- (Your personal petitions may be made.) E- For those who have died that once reconciled in your Love may interced for this pilgrim Church who longs to see Your Face. Receive Lord these prayers we humbly present before you. 5-Give the sign of peace, then the sign of the cross to conclued with the following antiphon: + Let us praise the Lord. R. And give him thanks.
