He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. (Colossians 1:15–18).
Jesus was no ordinary man! He was far more than a great teacher. He was God the Son, taking on human flesh for the express purpose of giving His life as a payment for our sin. The Creator, sustainer, ruler and head of all there is, humbled Himself to rescue you and me.
This is a relationship to cherish, cultivate, and rely on. Jesus is not our "good-buddy." He is the Lord and we should respond to Him as such.
God cared enough about you that He came in-person to rescue you. Let that truth fill your mind with gratitude, worship, and renewed energy today.
