I'm converting from WordSearch. There I had a Notes file I used to take sermon notes - separate file for each pastor. Looks like I can have a Notebook in L8 for the same purpose.
The other thing I'd like to do is to be able to record/indicate with the note the date of the sermon. Then I can filter and have only the notes, and thus verses, used in that sermon. Suggestions on how to create a filter for that purpose? (The Tags looked like a possibility but I would only use that if the Tags are only visible within that Notebook.)
- The Notes tool automatically assigns the date to a note - and you can sort them by date created or modified, and there are predefined filters for created and for modified in the last 14 or 30 days. However, I think that tags are a better way to go - you can use a specific date format, the name of the preacher or a preaching series, whatever suits your organizational needs. The tags are not visible outside the Notes tool - you can search for them with an Everything search though.
- Thanks. It appears that Tags are visible across Notebooks. Possibly the create date is sufficient. (I've no idea what the create dates will be when our Notes Files are brought over from WordSearch.) My current thought process is to open the Notebook for the pastor whose sermon notes I want to search for. Maybe that doesn't make sense and all sermons should be combined. I'll know in a year or so.....
