This week in our worship, we will consider how we, as followers of Jesus, are to live out the “Great Commandment” to love the Lord with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. But before we explore this mark of a disciple, we will first be reminded from Scripture that our motivation to love the Lord comes because He first loved us. The foundational and familiar verses of Romans 5:8 and John 3:16 will remind us of the love that God has shown to us in Christ, and we will respond in songs of worship, And Can It Be and How Marvelous. We’ll read together from 1 John 4:14-19 as a shared testimony of God’s love for us, and then express our love to Him in return with the simple chorus I Love You Lord.
We’re glad to welcome Pastor Andrew back this week as he brings us the next message in our our new Become Like Jesus sermon series, “Like Jesus, Disciples Live the Great Commandment.” His text can be found in Mark 12:28-34. We’ll again express our love for the Lord in song with Love the Lord, then pray together for our Giving, and close with a Benediction. As always, tell us how we can be praying for you. Send your prayer requests to:prayer@meadowsfamily.org.
You can prepare for worship this week by prayerfully engaging the Scripture and songs above. Immerse yourself in “the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge” (Ephesians 3:19) and come ready to respond to that love together.
Remember also that attendance is limited at our in-person services right now, so you must register if you’d like to attend. Now that we are restarting our Sunday morning Children’s Ministries at the 9:30am service, it’s especially important to remember to register yourself for the worship service and your children separately for Nursery, Toddler, and Children’s Church.
