Many of us may be familiar with what is called the “Great Commission” of Jesus. This is our Lord’s post-resurrection instruction to his followers to “go and make disciples of all nations.” But we often overlook how Jesus begins his Great Commission. Matthew 28:18 tells us that Jesus first came and said to his disciples, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” The Great Commission of Christ comes from a position of authority, for He is our Savior and our King. Responding to this truth, we’ll begin our time of worship together in praise of King Jesus as we sing Hallelujah to My King and King of Kings.
Then, Pastor Andrew will continue our Become Like Jesus sermon series with a message entitled, “Like Jesus, Disciples are Intentional.” His text can be found in Acts 1:6-12. Our response together in song is Christ Is Enough. We’ll wrap up our time together by praying for our Giving, and be sent out with a Benediction. As always, tell us how we can be praying for you. Send your prayer requests to:prayer@meadowsfamily.org.
I believe that our worship is deeper and more meaningful when we allow God to prepare our hearts and minds in advance. Please find a few moments to prayerfully meditate on the Scripture texts above, and allow God to prepare you to receive all that he wants to give us in our worship.
Remember also that attendance is limited at our in-person services right now, so you must register if you’d like to attend. Now that we have restarted our Sunday morning Children’s Ministries at the 9:30am service, it’s especially important to remember to register yourself for the worship service and your children separately for Nursery, Toddler, and Children’s Church.
