I receive zero results on Logos when I do a search for “lemma:
רבה AND lemma: פרה” (having selected “Search All Morph
Text in Genesis-Exodus in Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: SESB 2.0 Version.” I
am not sure why this is the case, because I am sure that those two terms occur
more than once in the creation account. Can someone please help me understand what I may be doing wrong?
- Thank you for these helpful thoughts. I removed the spaces after the colons, but it still doesn't show any results. When I copied and pasted the string you have in your second paragraph, it seemed to work (both for Morph and Bible Search). Do you know what the "1:" means in that case? I generated my search by first typing in "lemma: AND lemma: " and then copying and pasting in the Hebrew terms afterwards, because once I have the Hebrew terms, I cannot seem to continue writing towards the right - my cursor automatically goes back to the beginning of the Hebrew word...
- The numbers indicate homophones - defined as: homophone (ˈhɒmǝˌfǝʊn) n 1 one of a group of words pronounced in the same way but differing in meaning or spelling or both, as for example bear and bare So you need to ensure you are selecting the right one when doing a search. In the case of the first time, there are variant meanings as shown in the screenshot. And this would explain why choosing the term without a homophone indicator wouldn't produce any results
- Thank you very much, Graham! I think you have solved my problem now!
