I woke up January 1st thinking, "Wouldn't it have been nice if a switch could've been flipped at midnight that would change everything back to 'normal'?" I found myself constantly saying that 2020 was a hard year and that I couldn't wait for it to be over. Yet, the fact remains that 2021 is here and nothing really has changed, in some ways it feels worse! But then I am reminded, we live in a fallen world. These troubles aren't going to go away, but that shouldn't make me discouraged but rather emboldened! This isn't where our hope is found! Our hope is eternal, never fading, never ceasing, and can't be diminished by masks, or quarantine, or a virus.
Our hope is in JESUS! There is nothing that can overpower the work that he did on the cross! When I focus my gaze on my surroundings, I begin to feel anxious and overwhelmed. So let's lift our gaze, and raise our hands in worship to the one who has given us HOPE!
"For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."
Our Hope is in Jesus!
