Hi everyone and sorry to bother you,
Does anyone have experience of streaming using a hardware encoder and could advise on minimum spec required for the PC.
Thanks for any advice, and especially if anyone can share the spec of the PC they use successfully.
We're trying to decide whether to go with higher-spec laptop with OBS or lower-spec laptop with hardware encoder (eg. Atem Mini Pro or Blackmagic Web Presenter).
Thanks!
Stuart
- hi Steven Stoops and Pat Damiani. Thanks again for all your advice last month. Our new laptop arrived today (i7-10750H with 16GB RAM and RTX2070 8GB). I've only spent a short time with it so far. It looks like Proclaim continues to use the Intel graphics, while OBS uses the RTX with NVENC hardware encoding - is that correct? We still seem to have lag on some videos on Proclaim NDI (sound is ahead of image) but I need to test that more to see if it's all videos or just the odd weird one! If you are willing to continue your kindness and help point me in the direction of any settings I may need to adjust, that would be amazing - but I realise I've already asked a lot of you, so I'll completely understand if you're not able to help further. Thank you again. Stuart
- In OBS, you can adjust your audio settings. Here's a YouTube video that might help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTrS5l0zKQg
- Thanks, Pat. It's odd as the audio for one of the videos is in sync on Proclaim Slides but out of sync on Proclaim NDI! I'll have a look at the video and have a bit more of a play with it and hopefully can get it all working smoothly. Thanks again. Stuart
