Now whenever the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out on their journey, following it. But if the cloud did not rise, they remained where they were until it lifted. The cloud of the LORD hovered over the Tabernacle during the day, and at night fire glowed inside the cloud so the whole family of Israel could see it. This continued throughout all their journeys. (Exodus 40:36–38).
What a good example this is for us: don't move until the Lord goes before you. Some of the biggest problems in our lives are caused by pushing ahead of God's timing. The challenge is to wait for Him.
In Psalm 32:8 we read these words. "The Lord says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you." He wants to do this for us. But, for that to happen, we have to both be ready to wait and ready to move when He opens the door. God will not lead us forward until the circumstances are just right. Wait for Him.
