When we go on vacation, no matter the destination, there are usually multiple routes we can take to arrive at our destination. Every spring, our family makes a trip to Florida. We have two main routes to choose from when we leave our home to get to Florida, but there are many secondary routes also. No matter the route we choose, the end result is the same. We eventually arrive at our destination. However, that isn’t the case if we desire Heaven to be our final destination. There is only one route to Heaven. John 14:5-6 says: “Thomas saith unto Him, Lord we know not whither thou goest, and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” The world will tell us that there is more than one way that we can take to get to Heaven and we can be deceived by the many different paths it offers. We need to check our GPS, the Bible, regularly to make sure we are on the correct route and following Jesus so that our final destination is Heaven. Unlike the GPS in our car that sometimes can take us the wrong direction, the Bible will never lead us in the wrong direction. Are you striving to make Heaven your final destination? What route are you trying to use to reach it? Is it Jesus or something else? Jesus is the only road to Heaven so make sure you are traveling with Him.
