"I have one desire now- to live a life of reckless abandon for the Lord, putting all my energy and strength into it"
Can you imagine? What would that look like? The definition of reckless: without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action. What if we lived for Jesus without caring about the consequences? How would we change, how would we affect others?
I think about the word reckless and my children come to mind. When they tend to be reckless is when they are usually filled with complete and utmost JOY that they forget the world around them. And I must admit, it's contagious! I find myself smiling or laughing along with them.
The sermon on Sunday was such a reminder of the GREATNESS of God's word. But not necessarily the physical Bible, that's just a book, but when it's planted in deep and fertile soil, it becomes transformative. WOW! Are you feeling like you are good soil? Or are you feeling like you're stuck in the thorns or stuck on a path where the birds are coming at you? God's word is living water, it refreshes, it rejuvenates, it pushes you back to where you need to be. So dig back in!
"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart"
So it's not the nice leather bound book sitting on the coffee table, it's the words that are within and what you do with them. Can we allow God's word to seep into our souls, to flourish and produce GREAT fruit? I have a feeling that if we truly become intentional about growing in God's word, we will find we start to live recklessly for Christ. Imagine what that would look like, the freedom we would feel.....
