One of the things I love about 1 Thessalonians is how it helps us get "Back on Track."
That is exactly what we saw this weekend with a sermon that brought to memory all the ground we covered beginning in May through when we took a break this summer. The big truth is that "You get back on track when God gets your attention." The sermon can be found here and there are some downloadable notes that are found here.
So much of this weekend recognized God's faithful work in our lives. I actually woke up this morning with a song from our 9 am service running through my mind. The song is "He will hold me fast" and if you have just a few minutes to find some encouragement you can find it here.
Now, this coming week we have the first "Fun Friday" of the school year. This is an event where kids K-5 can come have a fun evening at Valley from 6-9 at the Pacific Way Campus and parents get to have a few hours to themselves. If you plan on coming to this shoot Andrew an email to let him know how many kids to expect.
And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. 1 Thessalonians 2:13
